The Laboratory for Safety Management of Mechanical Systems (Shibutani Lab.)

Welcome

The Laboratory for Safety Management of Mechanical Systems (Shibutani Lab.), within Yokohama National University, is dedicated to doing the research on safety management of mechanical systems.

About the laboratory

Yokohamana National University (YNU) has been recognized as a leading university in Safety Engineering since the first Department of Safety Engineering in Japan was established in 1967. The Department of Risk Management and Environmental Sciences established in 2006 provides education for graduate students in risk management. The Center for Risk Management and Safety Sciences (RMSS) established within YNU conducts research projects in the integrated field of humanities, science and technology, and promotes continual awareness of and academic pursuit in Risk Management and Safety Sciences.

Shibutani lab. established in April 2009 is a laboratory within the Department of Risk Management and Environmental Sciences, Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences. We also provide a research and education for undergraduat students within the Material System and Design Course, Division of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering. Current research at the laboratory focuses on developing fundamental theory and practice for safety management of mechanical systems. Recent topics are introduced in Research Page.
